Article Excerpt: Teenagers hear a lot about what video games do to their mental health, and little of it is good. A new clinical trial found something different: high school students who played one game at school reported fewer depression symptoms a year later.

Lynn Fiellin, the study’s senior author, is a professor of biomedical data science and medicine at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine. Her play2PREVENT Lab builds games for young people’s mental health.
