Article Excerpt: Findings from (a) recent study (by Nigel Bunnett, PhD., Chair of the Department of Basic Science and Craniofacial Biology at New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry), published in Nature Nanotechnology showed that the nanoparticles were actually more effective than opioids in models of acute pain, chronic inflammatory pain, and neuropathic pain. In future this could present patients, with an alternative to opioid medications – and their adverse effects.
