About the Presentation: This presentation focuses on Dr. Bryan Garner’s research on the dissemination, implementation, and sustainment of evidence-based practices (EBPs) for substance use. The first part of the presentation will focus on the dissemination, implementation, and sustainment of the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) within addiction treatment organizations, while the second half of the presentation will focus on the dissemination, implementation, and sustainment of a motivational interviewing-based brief intervention for substance use within AIDS service organizations.
About the Presenter: Dr. Bryan Garner currently works as a Senior Implementation Research Scientist with RTI International. In 2006, Dr. Garner received his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Texas Christian University. Since 2008, Dr. Garner has served as the Principal Investigator for several research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (R01-AA017625; R01-DA030462; R01-DA038146; R01-DA038608). Between 2009 and 2016 Dr. Garner served on the editorial board for the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment (JSAT) and beginning in 2017 is one of JSAT’s Associate Editors.
