About the Presenter: Dr. Belinda Borrelli is a Clinical Psychologist and Professor and Director of The Center for Behavioral Science Research at Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Manchester, UK. She is also the PI and Director of BU’s Mobile and Electronic Health-ARC. Her research focuses on motivating health behavior change across a wide variety of behaviors (e.g., smoking, vaping, oral health, treatment adherence, asthma, dietary, physical activity) and populations. She specializes in treatment development, particularly for those who are unmotivated to change, and integrating theory based treatments into public health contexts. She has developed and tested mobile health platforms for behavior change (mobile apps, text messaging, Virtual Reality). She has served on grant review panels in the US, Europe, and the UK and was an advisor to the NIH on treatment fidelity, publishing invited articles on best practice guidelines. She is a Fellow of the APA, The Society of Behavioral Medicine, and The Society for Research on Nicotine & Tobacco. She has been Associate Editor at Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology and Addiction and is currently Associate Editor at American Psychologist. She was named “TEDMED Research Scholar” in 2015.
