Article Excerpt: Digital smartphone apps can be like a “a therapist in your pocket” — but they’re not going to fully replace your human therapist anytime soon. That’s what research into digital treatment options has found, according to Dr. Lisa Marsch, who directs the Center for Technology and Behavioral Health at Dartmouth College. In an April session with NPF fellows exploring addiction issues, Marsch described one randomized, controlled trial conducted with adults who met criteria for an opioid use disorder.
