Program Overview

DynamiCare Health is an iOS/Android app that automates contingency management (CM) to help patients focus their attention on behavioral goals (i.e., abstinence) for alcohol or other substance use disorder. The app consists of periodically prompted remote self-testing for alcohol use using a breathalyzer and/or other substances via a saliva test. Compliance is determined following the uploaded smartphone camera footage of the test process. If the sample is negative for breath alcohol and/or a panel of drugs, monetary rewards are immediately provided on a debit card. The app displays results in real-time for each test and provides a continually updated record of testing compliance, rewards earned, the balance still available to be spent, and the reserve amount available for future earnings.
