Program Overview
ClinTouch is a smartphone application designed for individuals with severe mental illness to help manage symptoms and prevent relapse. This symptom management tool allows patients and care coordinators to monitor secure real-time patient-reported symptom fluctuations. Twice a day, patients are prodded to complete a series of questions. These questions are answered by clicking and dragging a slider across a scale. In real-time, patient responses are transferred to the patient’s electronic health record (EHR), where they can be accessed by their care coordinator. The ClinTouch assessments have reliably produced symptom scores similar to those of the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and Calgary Depression Scale for Schizophrenia (CDS). With multiple completed assessments, symptom patterns, and trigger metrics can be viewed by both patients and care coordinators.
