Program Overview
Alcohol e-help is a web-based program developed to provide support for individuals seeking to reduce or discontinue their alcohol usage. The main element of the program is a comprehensive digital diary that allows users to record alcohol consumption and factors surrounding the consumption. Daily diary entries are completed using drag-and-drop icons of alcoholic beverages and a provided drink conversion calculator. This information is compared to users’ drinking reduction goals informing the provided tailored weekly feedback. In addition to the diary and goal-related feedback, users had open access to modules to support self-reflection on the benefits of alcohol reduction, personalized analysis of relapse circumstances, and risk mitigation.
