As part of the Center’s aim to support the development and evaluation of cutting-edge applications of technology to the treatment of substance-use disorders and related issues, CTBH offers limited funding to affiliated researchers and their trainees to support novel pilot projects that offer considerable promise to have a large impact on the field. We are pleased to announce that two important projects were recently funded:
“Using Functional Regression to Inform Development of Just-in-Time Adaptive Interventions for Cannabis Use”, led by Emily Scherer, PhD, aims to inform just-in-time adaptive interventions (JITAI) for cannabis use by using novel modeling techniques to identify windows of time and also patterns of use within these windows that are most associated with longer-term outcomes.
“Assessment and Engagement of At-Risk Adolescents via Social Media to inform Development of a Technology-Delivered Intervention”, led by Ashley Knapp, PhD, proposes to leverage technology-based tools to initiate a program of research on adolescent anxiety sensitivity and substance use with the long-term goal of developing a cost-effective technology delivered intervention for vulnerable youth.
To date, CTBH has funded 22 pilot projects. Read about each funded pilot here.
