Scott Gerlach, BA
Data Engineer, Center for Technology and Behavioral Health and Department of Biomedical Data Science
Scott has always been torn between computing and medicine. A degree in computer science was gained alongside a slew of EMT, anesthesia, and medical certifications. About 14 years ago, he decided to merge the two as much as possible. Having an affinity for data-oriented work, he quickly absorbed large projects that span data from Medicare, EPIC, longitudinal studies, clinical trials, registries, and various processes around the electronic medical record. His tasks are mainly focused on the “PCORI Moms in Recovery” and “Mindful Moms” studies, which are excellent blends of multi-site data challenges with meaningful answers for the medical community. He can easily be seen distracted by both musical and culinary adventures.
