Jeffrey D. Klausner, MD, MPH, is Professor of Medicine and Global Health in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Klausner’s work focuses on biomedical aspects of HIV/STI control and sexual health as a core component of HIV prevention. Through his previous work as Director of STD Prevention and Control for the San Francisco Department of Public Health (1998-2009) and Chief of the HIV/TB Care and Treatment Branch for the CDC-South Africa (2009-2011), he has integrated HIV and STI research with public health systems for surveillance, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
