Dr. Hwoyeon Seo is a visiting scholar at the Artificial Intelligence and Mental Health Lab at Dartmouth College’s Center for Technology and Behavioral Health. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the Computational Social Science and Future Strategy Lab at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). He earned his MSc in Global Mental Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in collaboration with King’s College London, and holds an MD from the Seoul National University, College of Medicine. Before joining the lab, Dr. Seo worked as a psychiatrist at Seoul National University Hospital and the Jong-ro Community Mental Health Center. His primary research interests focus on improving the accessibility and quality of psychiatric services to a broader population through innovative technologies and strategies. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Seo is passionate about nature, and enjoys meditation. He is an admirer of Carl Jung’s work, which deeply influences his approach to mental health.
In his free time, he enjoys the thrill of riding motorcycles and seeks solace in exploring the outdoors.
