Senior Mobile Software Engineer, Center for Technology and Behavioral Health, Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth
Born in Jamaica, Horatio Boothe is a Senior Mobile Software Engineer at Dartmouth College’s Center for Technology and Behavioral Health. He is currently the front-end developer for the Evergreen platform, designed to enhance the wellness and well-being of students and users through mood-responsive interventions. Horatio brings over a decade of experience in building accessible, award-winning technology—including serving as Lead Mobile Engineer for Charter Communications’ Spectrum Access app, which earned the 2021 Outstanding Achievement in Audio Description Innovation Award and the 2023 Helen Keller Achievement Award. He is also the co-inventor of two patents for innovations developed during his tenure at Charter. Horatio is passionate about leveraging technology to create meaningful, positive impact.
Horatio moved to New York in 2001, the year of 9/11, a life-changing event that profoundly shaped his outlook and deepened his commitment to service. The son of educators, he has tutored students in math, the sciences, and iOS development. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Hunter College, CUNY in New York, and his Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from Boston University. Outside of work, Horatio enjoys playing chess and football (soccer), and reminiscing about his days as a track and field athlete in Jamaica. Together with his wife, he is the proud parent of four children, has fostered sixteen, and adopted one—finding purpose in mentorship and uplifting others both at home and in his professional life.
