Ami Patel, MEd

Ami is a Research Coordinator at the CTBH, where she facilitates the development, implementation, and evaluation of an innovative app that combines AI with passive sensing to support student well-being.
Ami holds a Master’s in Developmental Psychology & Education from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s in Applied Psychology. She has contributed to national and international initiatives in digital health, mental health, and educational technology across academic, non-profit, and startup sectors. Through these efforts, Ami has helped increase access to mental health support and educational opportunities for over 15,000 people globally.
Ami is passionate about applying her expertise in experimental psychology and human-centered design to develop digital solutions that enhance population well-being. Her research focuses on using digital phenotyping to understand the unique contextual factors and experiences that impact a person’s health and behavior. Ultimately, she aims to integrate these insights with intelligent adaptive algorithms to create personalized interventions tailored to each individual’s evolving needs.
Outside of work, Ami enjoys hiking, learning new sports, and spending time in nature.
