This is according to a new Viewpoint by Eliseo J. Pérez-Stable, M.D., director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), part of the National Institutes of Health, and Monica Webb Hooper, Ph.D., NIMHD deputy director. They stress that these pillars of health disparities science are fundamental to addressing the root causes of health disparities and implementing data-driven interventions to promote health equity.
