CBT4CBT is an interactive, computerized, cognitive-behavioral therapy program for individuals with substance use disorders. This study examined the efficacy of CBT4CBT with cocaine-dependent patients in methadone maintenance treatment. Patients were randomly assigned to standard methadone treatment, or to standard treatment plus 8 weeks of CBT4CBT. Patients receiving CBT4CBT plus standard treatment had more continuous weeks of abstinence and less cocaine use than patients only in standard treatment. Additionally, the CBT4CBTgroup continued to have decreases in substance use after treatment. Results support the effectiveness of the CBT4CBT program for cocaine dependent patients in methadone treatment.
