Lisa Marsch, Director of the Center for Technology and Behavioral Health (CTBH) at Dartmouth College, served as an expert panelist in a Technical Consultation Meeting organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), on “The Potential Role of Social Media in the Prevention of Drug Use” (United Nations – Full Article).
This meeting, held at the UNODC Headquarters in Vienna International Centre (VIC) in Vienna, Austria, focused on opportunities to use social media for drug abuse prevention across the globe.
The meeting took place in the context of the Prevent Alliance, a public- private partnership designed to disrupt illicit drug activity online and amplify public awareness of the dangers and health risks of synthetic drug misuse. This partnership between the U.S. State Department, Meta Platforms Inc., Snap, and X Corp. invited the technical and scientific support of UNODC to guide efforts forward.
