CTBH Faculty Affiliate Paul Barr receives NIA funding to study audio recordings in dementia care

Congratulations to Dr. Paul Barr and his team on receiving an R01 award from the National Institute on Aging (NIA)!

The project, VOiCES³, is a five- year study consisting of three phases. The central goal of the study is to design an intervention that enhances interpersonal communication in triadic (persons living with dementia, their caregivers, and their clinicians) visits using audio recordings.

This new award will build on the team’s innovative work to understand care visit communications and identify strategies that can benefit patients and clinicians.

More information on the project can be found here.
