The Research Coordinator will play a key role in the Suicide Transmission Dynamics on Social Media study. This five-year, NIH-funded trial will use ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and social media data from young adults to model the transmission of suicidal thoughts and behaviors on platforms like Twitter/X and Reddit. The objective is to build predictive models that can identify risk in real-time and lay the groundwork for developing scalable, ethically-grounded digital mental health interventions to prevent suicide.

Our lab leverages digital technology to improve understanding, prediction, prevention, and treatment of mental and physical health problems, with a particular emphasis on chronic pain and co-occurring disorders. Projects will include identification of novel digital biomarkers associated with chronic pain after breast cancer surgery and user-centered development of a digital therapeutic to reduce persistent opioid use and impairment after spine surgery.
