Simultaneously, there is a shortage of mental health professionals able to meet true patient demand. In fact, an American Psychological Association analysis estimates that for everyone who needs support to have it, we’d need to add 20,220 more psychologists by 2030, above the baseline estimated need of 101,120 – and those estimates were published in 2018.
