Tonychris Nnaka earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing science from the University of Texas at Arlington and a dual Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology and Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. Prior to joining CTBH, he completed his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing under the NIH-funded T32 Precision Health Intervention Methodology Training in Self-Management of Multiple Chronic Conditions. As a pre-doctoral student, Tonychris assisted in developing and conducting clinical trials to test the efficacy of precision health methods and technology-driven intervention approaches for the management of chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Tonychris is interested in the use of technology-driven intervention methods for the activation of chronic disease self-management behaviors. He plans to leverage his experiences as a nurse and clinical epidemiologist in developing and implementing personalized technology-driven self-management interventions. Tonychris enjoys reading non-fiction books in his spare time and spending quality time with his family.
