headshots-lg-susan-godleySusan Harrington Godley, Rh.D., is a Senior Research Scientist and the EBT Coordinating Center Director at Chestnut Health Systems in Bloomington, IL. She received her doctorate in rehabilitation from Southern Illinois University. She has been a Principal or Co-principal Investigator on several CSAT, NIAAA, and NIDA adolescent studies.  She is the lead author of the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), one of the five Cannabis Youth Treatment (CYT) study treatment manuals, and was a Principal Investigator for one of the CYT study sites.  She is also the lead author on the companion case management manual used in the Assertive Continuing Care (ACC) approach.  Along with Dr. Mark Godley, she has developed and evaluated the latter approach under NIAAA funding to learn more about improving longer-term outcomes for adolescents.  During her career, she has worked closely with treatment programs, juvenile justice authorities, and in school settings to implement and evaluate evidence based assessments and interventions.  Dr. Godley currently directs the Evidence Based Treatment Center which has trained and certified clinicians and supervisors from over 100 treatment provider organizations across the U.S., in Canada, and in Brazil in A-CRA and ACC. In that capacity she has developed a dissemination model that has been successfully used to train hundreds of clinicians and supervisors simultaneously in the treatment approaches.  She has authored over 75 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and treatment manuals. She was the recipient of The Joint Meeting on Adolescent Treatment Effectiveness (JMATE) Research to Evidence-Based Practice award in 2010.  She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and gardening.
